TECNOFOAM G-2008

POLYURETHANE FOAM SYSTEM FOR THERMAL INSULATION (APPLIED DENSITY ±8 KG/M³)

The TECNOFOAM G-2008 thermal and acoustic insulation system is specifically formulated for the application and formation of open-cell applied low-density polyurethane foam (±8~12 kg/m³). Its application is carried out by means of dosing equipment that mixes the two components Tecnofoam G-2008 (polyol part) and Tecnofoam G-2049.I (isocyanate part). The expanding agent is water.

It has the CE marking based on a Declaration of Performance (DoP) prepared in accordance with the European standard EN-14315-1:2013.

APPLICATIONS

The TECNOFOAM G-2008 polyurethane foam system can be used in these situations:

  • realization of complete and continuous system of thermal insulation in residential, commercial or industrial buildings
  • in interior applications of ceilings, interior chambers of facades, ventilated facades, or interbeams of non-passable roofs, made with a wooden structure, or other material (consult compatibility)

NOTE: for other types of uses/situations consult our technical department

GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS

  • TECNOFOAM G-2008 is a polyurethane system with high insulating and acoustic capabilities, easy to apply and capable of eliminating existing thermal bridges.
  • the application and formation is carried out using our TC2049 dosing equipment ( spray-equipment.tecnopolgroup.com ) or similar
  • the blowing agent is water
  • the properties of the TECNOFOAM G-2008 polyurethane foam system allow it to adhere to any surface such as concrete, ceramics, metals, polyurethane foam, wood, acrylic paints (checking on other types of surfaces is recommended).
  • With its application, being continuous, the classic thermal bridges of non-continuous materials are eliminated, joints and any type of union between applications are saved, providing a surface with optimal thermal insulation parameters.
  • the TECNOFOAM G-2008 system has a VOC emission regulation certificate. It does not emit any substance into the environment once installed.
  • It is free of substances that are harmful to the ozone layer, so it does not promote the greenhouse effect (it does NOT contain HFCs, HCFCs, VOCs, etc…). The applied system is 100% recyclable by mechanical means that respect the environment. Gas capture for recycling and/or destruction is not required and gas capture for recycling and/or destruction is not required
  • the thermal transmission coefficient remains unchanged from its placement
  • is regulated under the European standard EN 14315-1:2013 "Thermal insulation products for building applications, rigid polyurethane foam products (PUR)", for which it has CE marking based on a DoP Declaration of Performance.

CONSUMPTION

The approximate consumption is 1kg/m², with a thickness of 10 cm.

PRESENTATION

215 kg metal drum. for the polyol and 250 kg for the isocyanate.

EXPIRATION

POLYOL COMPONENT: Initial 4 months (beat, shake for homogenization before mixing)

ISOCYANATE COMPONENT: 6 months

Always store the drums before use at a temperature between 5ºC and 35ºC, always in dry areas, without the possibility of moisture entering, and without direct contact with the sun or heat sources.

APPLICATION CONDITIONS

In general, the following factors should be taken into account prior to spraying:

  • The application of the polyurethane foam system must be carried out in conditions without the presence of moisture in the support or water coming from the support on which to apply, either at the time of application or afterwards.
  • the support must be clean and free of dust
  • In applications with high temperature gradients, a vapor barrier will be placed on the hot side of the insulation to prevent condensation.
  • metal surfaces should be protected with an anti-corrosion primer before being foam coated. On smooth surfaces without pores, galvanized sheet metal, polypropylene, etc..., a primer must be applied to ensure adhesion
  • apply in one direction until the layer expands, which is approximately 10~12 cm.
  • if necessary, and once fully expanded, apply a second layer on top of the one already applied initially.
  • its great expansion means that sometimes the excess has to be cut with the help of a saw
  • the desired total thickness will be defined by the project according to its specifications
  • at all times the applicator must respect the local regulations according to the use, taking into account the physical and chemical characteristics of the polyurethane foam system to be used.
  • The polyurethane foam system adheres firmly to most common building materials such as wood, plasterboard, steel, OSB, plywood, fiber cement, interior masonry, exterior drywall, and to itself.
  • it does not retract after having made the expansion.
  • reactivity times (under laboratory conditions):
    • CREAM TIME: 4 seconds
    • THREAD TIME: 8 seconds

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS (PROJECTION EQUIPMENT)

For the formation, it is necessary to mix the two initial liquid components, isocyanates and amines, using our TC2049 dosing equipment ( spray-equipment.tecnopolgroup.com ) or similar (proper maintenance and cleaning of this is recommended). The most general parameters of this equipment will be the following:

  • isocyanate heater temperature: ±50-55ºC
  • polyol heater temperature:±50-55ºC
  • hose temperature:±45-50ºC
  • pressure:1,450-1,750 psi (100 -120 bar)

These temperature and pressure parameters must be valued, ratified or slightly varied by the applicator, depending on the conditioning factors of each climatic zone, weather situation or according to the specifications of the projection equipment. It is the responsibility of the owner / applicator of the equipment to keep it in perfect condition in order to maintain the correct mixing ratio of the two components that Tecnopol delivers separately, by periodically updating its maintenance controls.

HANDLING AND TRANSPORTATION

  • Respiratory protection: When handling in aerosol form, an approved air-purifying mask must be used.
  • Skin Protection: Wear rubber gloves. Remove immediately after contamination. Wear clean clothing that covers the entire body. Wash thoroughly with soap and water after homework and before eating, drinking, or smoking. Contaminated clothing should be washed and/or dry cleaned.
  • Eye/Face Protection: Wear safety goggles to avoid splashes and exposure to mist produced by the spray.
  • Waste: The generation of waste should be avoided or reduced to a minimum. Incinerate under controlled conditions in accordance with local and national laws and regulations.

In any case, consult the existing product safety data sheets.
